How to get to the Fermilab Open House

Fermilab is located in Batavia, Illinois, about 45 miles west of Chicago.

On the day of the Sept. 23 Open House, you will be able to enter Fermilab through one of two entrances. The east entrance is on Batavia Road in Warrenville, Illinois. The west entrance is at the intersection of Kirk Road and Wilson Street in Batavia. Note that Pine Street will be closed to all traffic on the day of the Open House.

Bicycling: Bicycling across the Fermilab site will not be allowed during the day of the Open House. However, visitors are invited to ride their bicycles to the site at the Pine Street (west) and Batavia Road (east) entrances. Bicycle racks will be available close to the Lederman Science Center (west entrance) and at the welcome area (east entrance). Cyclists will be directed to park in one of these areas.

Using a GPS? If you plan to arrive at the west entrance, enter Kirk Road and Wilson Street, Batavia, Illinois (41.85383, -88.27866) into your GPS. If you plan to arrive at the east entrance, enter Batavia Road and Continental Drive (41.836118, -88.212575) in Warrenville, Illinois.

Construction notice: The Farnsworth interchange on I-88, just south of Fermilab, may be under construction. Those traveling to Fermilab via I-88 may consider taking the Route 59 exit and using our Batavia Road entrance from Route 59. The Route 59 exit is east of the Farnsworth interchange.
